About Us

History
Athletics Waverley was founded in 1965 and has a proud history. The following Waverley athletes have represented Australia at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games: Madeleine Pape, Robert Stone, Michael Harvey, Kate Anderson. Michelle Baumgartner, Sonia Brito and Lisa Lightfoot.

Background
We are a club involving athletes of varying abilities based in Waverley (now part of Monash Council) affiliated with Athletics Victoria (AV). We compete in road races and cross country events over winter and track and field events over summer - including sprints, middle distance, relays, high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump, javelin, shot put, discus and hammer.

We pride ourselves as being a friendly club that encourages athletes of all standards and all age groups (u/14 to veterans) to have fun and achieve their potential.

Our facilities at Central Reserve, Glen Waverley boast the best grass track in Victoria and a well equipped clubhouse (including all the necessary training gear).

We compete in the AVSL summer competition from October to March at Nunawading, Glenhuntly, Yarra Valley, Casey, Doncaster and Albert Park venues. In winter (April to September) our cross-country runners compete in Melbourne and country Victoria.

We share the Central Reserve athletics facilities with the Waverley Little Athletics Centre and they are a very well organised club with whom we co-operate closely to keep athletes in our sport from age 5 to ... (as old as you want).

Uniform
All athletes compete in our club uniform of red, black and white*. For further uniform enquiries contact us at: info@athleticswaverley.com.au

*In the summer season we also share a combined team uniform with Malvern Harriers of red, black, white, grey and blue.
