REGISTRATION

Bound by rules
Every person registering with Athletics Victoria as a member or prospective member of Athletics Waverley will be subject, as a member, to the constitution, bylaws and policies of the club. These are either published on the website or available to members on request: info@athleticswaverley.com.au

Member obligations to help out
As the Club is run by members for members it is necessary that each member (either personally or by someone on their behalf) help out at least once a year at either one of the Athletics Victoria events for which we are required to provide helpers, or at our major fundraiser in December (providing support for the Waverley Gift held at the club's track). If you have a preference please let the club registrar know by email: registrar@athleticswaverley.com.au.

Members will be notified by the Club of the duty roster.

Fees
Fees are comprised of an Athletics Victoria component and a club component. The Athletics Victoria component comprises a base registration fee (compulsory) and then various options depending on which events athletes wish to compete in.

A winter package provides entry to all winter events. A summer package provides entry to all summer shield events*. Athletes can purchase a package that covers both summer and winter, or just winter or just summer. Athletes running in only a few winter races may choose to enter those races separately rather than purchase a winter package.

Social members will have access to personal accident insurance, discount offers and can upgrade to an athlete (competing member).

Athlete, Coach and Officials memberships will have access to all benefits offered by Athletics Victoria.

Recreational runners will have access to personal accident insurance, discounted entry fee for some events and can upgrade at any time to another membership level.

Summer season

We also have an affiliation with the Malvern Harriers athletics club. During the summer season we join forces and compete as ‘Waverley Malvern’ Athletics. We established this relationship in 2020 during ‘covid’ which bolstered our teams and created a competitive edge. The registration process still remains the same but we run as combined club.

Discounts/Rebates

Discounts are available to the persons qualifying below.

* Junior U16 (as at 31/12/2018) - $45.00
* Waverley Life Member - $85.00
* Current Waverley Little Athletics member (on first joining Aths Wav) subject to competing in one individual XRC event or two Shield rounds - $50.00
* Dual athlete competing in two individual XRC events - $25.00
* Dual athlete competing in four Shield rounds - $25.00

Performance Rebates (apply to the AV/AWA plus XCR or T&F fees for existing open & under-age members)

T&F:
Nationals – win: 100% rebate
Nationals – place: 75% rebate
State – win: 75% rebate
State – place: 50% rebate

XCR:
XCR23 Series: open – first 10 finish: 50% rebate
XCR23 Series: under age – first 5 finish: 50% rebate

As Athletics Victoria won't provide for club discounts or rebates in their registration process it is unfortunately necessary that any person wishing to claim a discount or rebate must pay the full amount as above and then request the club provide the discount by way of refund - by completing and forwarding the form found here prior to the end of the AV season.
