AVSL Round 3 - Mt Evelyn
Well done by the 16 Waverley-Malvern runners who made it all the way out to Mt Evelyn on Saturday and did our club proud. Unfortunately we were missing a few this weekend with a Lorne weekend and the APS Athletics keeping a few of our athletes away.
We had 16 athletes in round 3 which was down a bit from 23 in round 2. Our score was also down a bit to 11,252, down from 16,229 in R2. Unfortunately 6 of the other 9 clubs pulled out their best score points for the season, and the combination of us being down a little bit and them all being up and about, pushed us down the ladder to 9th. We are still sitting 7th for the season to date and look competitive against Bendigo in 6th and Ringwood in 8th. We should be able to avoid relegation with Wyndham and Bellarine not doing so well.
There is now a 2 week break, so a chance to refresh and set yourself for round 4 on Saturday 9th November at Glenhuntly or Doncaster. This will be a good practice run for our potential Powerplay round 6 at the same venue on 30th November. We’ll be calling on absolutely everyone who can run or jump or throw or hobble a bit to help us out to get the maximum possible team points. Lock 30th November in the diary.
